Silicon Valley visit increased in scope

    The AICD visit to Silicon Valley is shaping up to be an exciting and enlightening opportunity for all concerned. 


    Participants will be able to engage in one-on-one interaction with technology and business leaders and explore the factors surrounding the evolution of the Valley and its unique culture.

    Sessions have been confirmed with new companies including Arzoo.com, Inxight Software Inc, eBay and LookSmart and also with industry giants such as Cisco Systems, Exodus, HP, SGI and Sun Microsystems. The AICD has arranged meetings with many high-profile leaders from around the Valley, including Meg Whitman, president and CEO of eBay Inc; Evan Thornley, co-founder and CEO and Tracey Ellery, co-founder and president of Looksmart and Bob Bishop, chairman and CEO of SGI. Time will also be spent at Stanford University, where a meeting has been arranged with Professor George Foster and Marguerite Gong Hancock, and at the Institute for the Future, with Paul Saffo. Australian Consul-General Peter R Lewis, will be attending and is hosting an evening reception.

    Networking opportunities have been arranged for other evenings, including an opportunity for participants to interact with expatriate Australian business people living and working in the Valley.
