CEO, Helping Hand Aged Care

Chris Stewart FAICD joined Helping Hand Aged Care as their Chief Executive Officer in 2019, having served on the Board for eight years prior.


Established in 1953, Helping Hand Aged Care is a substantial not-for-profit enterprise employing 2,200 staff and supporting over 5,000 older people across South Australia.  The organisation operates eleven care homes and extensive homecare services across both metropolitan and regional South Australia.   He has served as a SA council member of the aged care peak body ACCPA since 2020.

Chris has over 25 years of executive level leadership experience across diverse sectors including professional services, financial services and healthcare. He has served on several Boards and Committees including the State Council of the AICD, Hood Sweeney, Windmill Theatre Company and the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.  Chris is passionate about good governance, developing leaders and driving change to support the long-term vitality and sustainability of the aged care sector.  He holds a MBA, BSc (Hons) and is a graduate of the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
