Michelle is an experienced leader of professional services firms with particular expertise in governance.


She is a Director and Executive with Australia’s largest Plaintiff law firm, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers and a member of the firm's Audit and Risk Committee. As a lawyer and practice group leader she has been the nominee and recipient of a number of awards, and has been recognised as leading lawyer by the prestigious Doyle's guide. Michelle heads up the firm's Queensland Injuries practice, together with its national Abuse Law practice which she took from start up in 2015 to the fastest growing, and most profitable injuries practice at Maurice Blackburn as at 2023. She is currently Program Sponsor for an ambitious, multi-year, multi-million-dollar transformation program to reimagine the delivery of legal services.

She is the Chair of Queensland Building and Construction the governing body overseeing the Queensland Building and Construction Commission, the regulator of the building industry in Queensland. She previously previously served terms as Deputy Chair and a board member.

Michelle has held a number of leadership roles in the legal industry through work with Queensland Law Society and other legal bodies. She was the first woman president of the Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA) in Queensland and in that capacity has proven to be an effective advocate for the rights of injured people. She now serves as a board member of the ALA and is their national President-Elect.
