Kerrell is a lawyer with more than 40 years’ experience in the corporate and commercial fields. She is currently Special Counsel at CPA Australia. Until the end of 2022, she held the positions of General Counsel and Company Secretary.
Working as a lawyer both in private practice (eight of those years as a partner) as well as in house, Kerrell has a demonstrated depth of experience across governance, risk management and organisational delivery of legal services to stakeholders. She has also provided secretarial support for the Board, Councils and Board Committees at CPA Australia, including organising induction programs for new Board directors.
Kerrell has been responsible for the drafting and management of the governance documents in private practice and more recently for CPA Australia including their new Constitution adopted by the members at the 2022 Annual General Meeting.
Additionally, Kerrell has taught at the Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University and presented webinars at CPA Australia. She has held director positions with Sunnybank Rugby Union Club in Queensland and with a CPA Australia subsidiary company.
