Yalçın Akçay is a Professor of Operations and the Director of the Centre for Business Analytics at the Melbourne Business School (MBS). He holds a dual-title PhD in Business Administration and Operations Research from the Pennsylvania State University. His research, published in top-tier academic journals, focuses on optimisation of manufacturing and service operations, dynamic pricing, and inventory management.
Yalçın’s papers have received best paper awards from the Production and Operations Management Society and the Institute of Industrial and System Engineers. He teaches across various MBA and Executive Education programs at Melbourne Business School. Yalçın also works closely with companies to help them with prescriptive analytics initiatives.
