Professor Paul Gadek FAICD

Professor Gadek has significant experience and expertise in leadership, policy and governance.  He previously served as the Chair of James Cook University’s Academic Board for a number of years, and sat on University Council.  Now retired from academia, Professor Gadek continues to be active in consulting on governance and strategic management, both in Australia, PNG and Samoa. 


He has served directorships in James Cook Australia Institute of Higher Learning (JCAIHL Pte Ltd), which operates out of Singapore; Regional Development Australia FNQ&TS; on the Board of the Australian Tropical Herbarium (ATH); Deputy Chair of FNQ FC Ltd; director and Chair of Skill360 Australia Ltd; and inaugural Chair of the FNQ Food Incubator Ltd.  He has been a member of several regional development committees including ATEC, DEEDI’s Mentoring for Growth, and Sustainable FNQ. He is a graduate and Fellow of AICD, and is currently the Chair of the Cairns Committee of AICD.  He is a Fellow of the Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences (QAAS), and an adjunct Professor with CQU. He is a member of the PNG Register of Experts for Quality Assessments of Universities and undertakes audits of teaching institutions.
