Nicki Bowman MAICD

Non-Executive Director, Atturra

Nicki is an experienced leader, non-executive director and lawyer whose leadership career has spanned over 21 years across industries as diverse as mining, finance, sport and manufacturing.  


After completing a Bachelor of Economics and Laws at the University of Sydney, Nicki’s career began in a national law firm, where she practiced corporate and commercial law. She then moved in-house as Corporate Counsel at BHP. Her appointment as Vice President Business Services of New Zealand Steel in 2004 saw her transition out of legal practice into executive management.

In 2008 Nicki was appointed as a non-executive director of ASX-listed mining and exploration company Blackthorn Resources Limited, then later was appointed to the Board of Intrepid Mines Limited following its takeover of Blackthorn. During this period Nicki chaired first the Audit & Risk Committee and then the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Since 2021 Nicki has been a non-executive director of IT services company Atturra Limited, and currently chairs both its Nomination & Remuneration Committee and its Audit & Risk Committee.

A keen soccer player since childhood, Nicki has had several football-related roles, including as a founding director of Football South Coast Limited and a member of the former FFA Women’s Advisory Group.

She was also a board member of the charity Dress for Success Sydney from 2017 until 2022, and the founder of its Illawarra branch. In 2019 she was appointed the Australia Day Ambassador for Wollongong in recognition of her philanthropic work.

In 2019 Nicki established her own leadership practice, focused on coaching and training leaders and teams to enable them to achieve peak performance using practical tools and skills which can be swiftly implemented.
