Mick Dunne

Security Advisor ANZ, Microsoft

Prior to joining Microsoft in May Mick Dunne spent the past 5 years as the Chief Information Security Officer at Australian Super, one of the world's largest pension funds.


Mick was the first CISO at Australian Super, where he formally established the security program. With over 30 years of experience, Mick is a seasoned security professional who has worked across a broad range of industries, including finance, telecommunications, professional services, federal and state government, and defence. His expertise spans cyber, physical, and personal security.

 Over the last 10 years Mick has been involved in the development of Board and Board sub-committee papers and has regularly presented to Board and board sub-committees such as Technology, Audit and Risk. Other Board engagement activities have included cyber incident response exercises as well as board training and strategy days.

Prior to his roles at Microsoft and Australian Super, Mick held senior positions in information security at nbnCo, KPMG, and the Federal Attorney General’s department, following a long career with the Royal Australian Navy.

 At Microsoft, Mick's role is to work with customers as a strategic security advisor. He will also provide support as a security resource within Microsoft, leveraging his recent industry experience to ensure we effectively support customers and ensure strong alignment.
