CEO, 54 Reasons

Matt is CEO of 54 reasons, Save the Children’s Australian service delivery arm. It is Australia’s leading child rights organisation, operating across every state and territory, in areas including domestic violence prevention, youth justice, child development, community development and mental health services.


His current directorships include yourtown (powering Kids Helpline), Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS), and is Chair of the Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS), and Chair of Child Wise. In addition to this he serves on several government and ministerial advisory committees.

As an experienced clinician and practitioner, Matt is passionate about impact and outcome measurement, social justice and advocating for systems change to provide equal opportunity to all Australians. Matt has held senior executive roles in some of Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisations, specialising in making transformational change. With experience leading Australia’s first Social Impact Bond to mature and several other impact investments, he is a leader in innovative models of outcome measurement and contracting.

Matt’s qualifications include, Bachelor of Social Science (Psych & Couns), Masters in Clinical Counselling and Grad. Dip. in Strategic Leadership. He holds Membership with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD) and is Fellow of Australian Institute of Managers and Leaders (FAIML).
