Non Executive Director, Australian Ethical Investment

Mara Bún’s executive career spanned investment banking (Morgan Stanley, Macquarie Bank), R&D (CSIRO, Food Agility CRC) and community sectors (Green Cross Australia, Bush Heritage, Choice). She has served as a Company Director across government, industry and NGO boards for 20 years, including as Chair of the Board of Gold Coast Waterways Authority for six years with oversight of the Spit Master Plan and diverse waterways infrastructure and place making initiatives .


Mara serves as Chair of the board of asset consultant Australian Impact Investments and classical music ensemble The Bowerbird Collective. She represents the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan on the board of GreenCollar, Australia’s largest carbon developer and on the advisory board of Vayda, a US start-up which offers regenerative farming as a service. She serves as Non-Executive Director on the listed board of Australian Ethical Investments as well as climate tech start-up AirSeed Technologies. Mara was born and raised in São Paulo Brazil, and is a founding Director of the board of The Conversation Brasil, as well as advising DFAT as a Director of the board of the Council on Latin American Relations (Coalar).
