Greg Bourne has worked at the nexus of energy business, energy policy, sustainability, corporate governance and climate change for over 30 years.


He graduated from the University of Western Australian B.Sc. (Honours) in Chemistry and carried out research into refinery processes for two years at BP's Research Centre in England before joining BP Exploration and Production. With BP Exploration, he lived and worked in Australia, the UK, Middle East, USA, Canada, Ireland, Brazil, China. Based in Venezuela he was Regional President for Latin America particularly focussing on governance and corporate social responsibility.

For two years he was Special Adviser on Energy and Transport to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

He returned to Australia in 1999 as Regional President - BP Australasia and worked with government and business on the sustainability, corporate governance, renewable energy and climate agendas. He was Chair of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Victoria.

After leaving BP, Greg was CEO WWF-Australia for six years during which time he was instrumental in strengthening the Climate Change agenda throughout the WWF worldwide network.

Greg was a non-executive director of Carnegie Wave Energy and was Chair of Granville Harbour Operations Wind Farm. He was the inaugural Chair of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency.

A Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, he was awarded the Centenary Medal for services to the environment and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Western Australia for services to international business.
